History • • • A Werewolf by birth, Alcide was born with several advantages over most. Being the first born of his father and mother ensued that he would become a Were when he grew up, as only the first child of two Weres by birth can be passed down the genes. Werewolves are especially powerful in the were wolves and look down on all other were-animals, most were-animals think Weres are too elitist. The Were community is so shrouded in secrecy his sister Janice doesn’t even know it exists. Though Alcide grew up with money and a sense that his people were superior to others, he still managed to grow up with a big heart. He’s family man who loves and supports everything they do. An attentive and romantic lover to women, even if they don’t deserve it. Alcide’s surveying company is in Shreveport, Louisiana, but Alcide does a lot of traveling and owns property in the places he travels to frequently. His apartment in Jackson, Mississippi becomes a good cover for when he is enlisted by Eric Northman to accompany Sookie there in her quest to find her missing vampire boyfriend, Bill Compton. Alcide is reluctant at first, because it is only a favor to save his father from the debt he has acquired gambling at vampire casinos. He is kind to Sookie, but guarded, until her charm and patience wins him over. In the end though Alcide and Sookie go their seperate ways to lick the wounds of relationships past and hope that their next meeting is a happier one..
